It is located in Santa Rosa Beach, near Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Alys Beach, Seagrove, Seacrest, Inlet Beach, Miramar Beach, etc.   30a is one of the oldest towns in 30A. Its prime location makes it the most feasible spot to book a pontoon boat rental for any visitor.

The convenient location of 30A Pontoon Rentals means that you don’t need to venture to Destin or Panama City to pick up a boat by car.  You can save over 1 hour by boat each way. . You can simply head directly to the dock to pick up your pontoon rental.

What Kind of Luxury Pontoon Boat Rentals are Available in 30A Florida?

30a Pontoon Rental offers the nicest, fastest, largest and smoothest pontoon rental boats in the state.   Instead of a typical $20,000, 50 hp, 23 foot boat, 30a Pontoon Rental offers 150 and 200 hp, 28 foot, tritoons.

Children can especially enjoy sliding back into the calm waters again and again. A small and convenient ladder allows those in water to climb up the main deck of the pontoon boat. The main deck and upper deck are also connected through a ladder to make the latter easily accessible.

In 2024, 30A Pontoon plans to add 200HP Pontoons to its list of pontoon rentals, which is faster than 150HP Pontoons.

How Long Can You Enjoy a Pontoon Rental?

30a Pontoon rental offer 6 and 9 hour pontoon rentals instead of 4 and 8.   This allows you more time on the water and more time to travel back and forth from the 30a area to Crab Island or Destin.

What Can You Do on an All-Day Pontoon Rental?

The bay is packed with all types of fun activities.   From the 30a area (near Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Alys Beach, Inlet Beach, Miramar Beach, etc) you can enjoy watching dolphins, cruising in the fabulous bayous where you can enjoy gorgeous homes, cruise to Crab Island where you can enjoy all Crab Island has to offer, stop by Lulu's restaurant (owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister, or cruise the waters of the Destin Harbor and see some of the beautiful homes and boats.

WHAT IS CRAB ISLAND?

​​

Crab Island used to be an Island between Destin and Okaloosa Island.  However, in the 1970's it washed out.  Now it's a super fun sandbar.  The water is typically crystal clear blue and only 2-4 feet deep.   Boats drop anchor and play for the day.  Some days there are 50 boats, other days there may be 500.

How Long Does It Take to Get To Crab Island?

That's a loaded question.  The speed of a boat on the water is determined by the following.

1. HP of the motor

2. Size of Boat

3. Weight on the Boat

4. Wind Speed

5. Style of Boat (pontoon, tritoon, deckboat, double decker or single decker.

For example; a pontoon boat will go an average of 10-15% slower than a tritoon because the tritoon sits up higher on the water and has less friction.

We offer a combination of the fastest, smoothest, and largest pontoon rental boats on the panhandle.  We also offer tritoon pontoon rentals instead of pontoons.  A trip to Crab Island from the 30a area will take anywhere from 35 minutes to 1 hour depending on the above conditions.

​

CANCELLATION POLICY-

We offer a 72 hour cancellation policy Sunday-Thursdays.  Boats cancelled after this do not get a refund.  See below for weather policy.   All Friday and Saturday boats require a 2 week cancellation policy for a full refund.

WEATHER POLICY

WEATHER - The weather has a mind of it's own in this area.  Weather forecasters have a hard time predicting storms, rain, etc.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water. However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically. In many cases weather can change in 30-60 minutes.   We also get unexpected rain and wind storms in the middle of the day without warning.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns. However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate. The only time we cancel and give full refunds is if The United States Coast Guard issues a SMALL CRAFT advisory for the BAY.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers that develop while on the water. If you choose to go out and it rains, you have accepted that risk. 30a Pontoon Rental also does not put boats out in winds constantly above 12 mph.   If we see weather is dangerous or too much rain we will cancel 1 hour before your scheduled event.  30a Pontoon Rental and 30a Yacht Charter does not cancel do to cold weather.  If the weather turns cold, it's your choice to cancel, but you will not receive a refund.  We also DO NOT cancel the day before due to the rapidly changing weather patterns.   We will notify you the morning of.

WIND- Wind can be a major factor with your pontoon rental.  Winds of 12 mph out of the west can be dangerous.   Wind can change throughout the day.  If there is high wind in the morning we may postpone your trip.  However, we will not offer a refund if we can move the trip to a later time. 

​

SICKNESS OR DEATH-  We do not cancel and refund for sickness, death or injury.  This includes COVID-   We encourage travel insurance.  

​

RESCHEDULING- Our boats often book up weeks in advance.   There is usually not an opportunity to reschedule to another date.  However, we can put you on a waiting list for another day.  Also, if you want to reschedule, and we are booked up that day, we lose the opportunity to rent the boat to someone else.   You can reschedule boats 72 hours or more in advance.   If we reschedule after, this we risk losing that spot for other clients.   The only time we reschedule after 72 hours is if weather is an issue.

RENTERS INSURANCE - THIS IS A MUST- There are times when the weather forecast is not accurate and winds change or rains increase unexpectedly.   In these circumstances, 30 Pontoon Rental does not refund any money.  This becomes the risk of the customer.   We encourage our renters to get RENTAL INSURANCE for these situations.

Why a 150 hp Pontoon Rental Boat on 30a instead of a 50 hp boat?-
A typical pontoon rental boat in the panhandle is a 50 hp pontoon.  30a Pontoon Rental offers 150 and 200 hp tritoons.   A 150 hp tritoon will go about 3 times faster than a 50 hp pontoon.   

 

TRITOONS AS COMPARED TO PONTOON RENTALS?  Is there really much difference?

Yes, there is a huge difference.  A 50 hp tritoon is about 5 mph faster than a 50 hp pontoon.  So, a 150 hp tritoons is going to be dramatically faster.  Also, a tritoon sits up higher in the water making it smoother.  You get much less bounce.  It's a much more compfortable pontoon rental ride. 

How Big is the Bay in the 30a area?

The bay in Santa Rosa Beach area (close to Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Alys Beach, etc) extends from the 331 Bridge to Crab Island in Destin.  While you are on our pontoon rental boats you can visit many of the beautiful bayous with exquisite homes in Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Destin.  

What is there to do?

There is everything from enjoying the waters to stopping off for a bite to eat.   While on our pontoon rental boats enjoy incredible restaurants right on the water including the famous Dewey Destin’s, and everyone’s favorite, LULU’s restaurant.  Lulu's is directly between the 30a area and Crab Island.  Lulu’s Restaurant is owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister.  Lulu’s offers indoor and outdoor dining, a fun beach with activities for kids, and an outdoor bar right on the water.  All you have to do is pull your pontoon rental boat up, anchor securely and walk up to the beach. 

Can we shop somewhere on the bay?

Most people stay all day on the boat.  You can always shop different times.  However, there are two places to shop and dine while on our pontoon rentals.  Just minutes from our pontoon rental dock is the Sandestin community and the popular Baytown Warf.  Baytown Warf has tons of great shopping, a zip line, a climbing wall, great restaurants, etc.   You typically have to pay to park while you shop.   It changes from time to time.  Usually it's around $20.00.    In addition to Baytowne, you can visit the famous Destin Harbor.  Destin Harbor is packed with great restaurants, shopping, a climbing wall, art gallaries, etc.   The Destin Harbor is only ¼ mile boat ride from Crab Island.   Restaurants include AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar,  Harry T’s, Dewey Destin’s, Marina Café, Boathouse Oyster Bar, Gilligan’s, etc.  
 

Does the boat come equipped with anything?

PADDLE BOARDS (YOLO BOARDS)-
Our 11 foot paddle boards are a great way to enjoy Crab Island.  You can paddle around on top of the water and see fish and wildlife underneath.  

 

18 X 6 FLOATING PAD-A favorite of our pontoon rental guests is our 18 X 6 floating pad.  These pads can hold up to 10 people comfortably.

COOLERS-
Many of our pontoon rental guests don’t have a cooler.  We offer large coolers to keep your goods cold, or in some cases, keep your supplies dry. 

 

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO RENT A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

The U.S. Coastguard Requires the driver to be born on or before January of 1988.   This hasn't changed in years.   However, The US Coastguard allows individuals younger to rent/drive a boat if they have a boating certificate.   You will have to take the certificate online.   Even with a boating certificate we require a minimum of 30 years.  The only exceptions are those who hire a captain or designated master.   We provide you with a list of drivers.  You can call from that list.   A paid driver for your pontoon rental boat is $70.00 an hour.

CAPTAIN SERVICES-
Don’t want to drive our pontoon rental boats.  We can provide you with a driver for an extra fee.   We provide you with a list of 10-15 drivers.  You can call from that list.  All of our drivers charge $70.00 an hour.

BACHELORETTE PARTY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. CAN WE HAVE MORE THAN 12 PEOPLE ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT for our BACHELORETTE PARTY?  

U.S. Coastguard only allows 12 people max on a boat.  This includes captain.  We regularly do two boat parties.   Boats can stay together as they are traveling and can anchor close together at Crab Island.

2. CAN WE BRING FOOD AND ALCOHOL FOR OUR BACHELORETTE PARTY?

Yes, you can bring food and alcohol on the boat.  You can bring your own coolers or we offer 80-100 quart cooler rentals.  The sun can really impact how people feel.   We strongly encourage guests to bring lots of water.   Ideally we encourage guests to rotate a bottle of water between each alcoholic drink.  Also, the Coast Guard is extremely strict.  There is absolutely no drinking allowed by the driver.

3. HOW BIG IS THE VAN TRANSPORTATION?  WILL OUR BACHELORETTE PARTY FIT?

The van allows for 13 guests and some gear.

4. IS THERE ANY PLACE TO GO EAT WHILE ON THE PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

There are a couple places guests go eat while out on the water.  Lulu's in Destin is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister LuLu.  It's a great atmosphere with good food.  You can pull the boat up and drop anchor out in the water.  Lulu's has a bar on the beach outside as well.   

DEWEY DESTIN'S at Crab Island- Just 1/2 mile east of Crab Island on the water is the famous Dewey Destin's.  Fabulous food an incredible DIVE type atmosphere.   Must have captain or very experienced driver to pull up at their dock.

DESTIN HARBOR- The Destin Harbor is also a great spot to stop and eat.  There are over 10 great restaurants in this area.  It's often hard to find a place to dock the boat.

5. DO WE PAY FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE WHEN WE BOOK OR WHEN WE COME? 

30a Pontoon Rental charges the full amount up front.  This includes the boat(s), add on's, shuttle, etc.  HOWEVER, you pay $50.00 of the $70.00 captain fee the day of your event.  You can pay cash or venmo.

6. WHAT IS CUSTOMARY TIPS FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPEREINCE?

Captain- 15% of cost of trip

Deckhands- 7-10% of cost of trip

Shuttle- 10-20% of cost shuttle

Please Note:  All captained boats also have a deckhand.  That deckhand prepares the boat, hauls the boat, cleans the boat at the end, etc.   Please make sure to separate the captain tip from the deckhand.

7. CAN WE DO LESS THAN a 6 HOUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE?

Most of our boats book up in advance.  We also have a large waiting list.  Also, our boats only go out once a day.   Due to the demand, we will allow a 4 hour charter, but it's the same price.

8. HOW SOON SHOULD WE BOOK OUR PONTOON RENTAL TRIP?

Bachelorette Parties need to book 3-4 months out.  Or any party scheduling a trip on Fridays or Saturdays.   The same is true with Holidays.   We encourage at least 3-4 months out.  However, Sundays through Thursdays we encourage people to book out a couple months in advance.

9. WHAT IS THE PONTOON RENTAL CANCELLATION POLICY FOR A BACHELORETTE PARTY

There is a 72 hour cancellation policy Sunday through Thursday.   If cancelled before 72 hours you will get a full refund.  If after, there is no refund.  However, we require 2 week cancellation policy on Fridays and Saturdays.

10. WHAT IS THE RAIN POLICY for a PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

Coastal areas are notorious for dramatic weather changes.    Many times the weather channels don't even notify the area when a storm or weather pattern hits.   We can have a perfect radar, and a 30 minute storm will show up without notice.   As a result, we hold off with any cancellations until the day of.  If we see that the weather is going to be bad, we will cancel 1-2 hours before your scheduled trip (sometimes sooner).   If the weather shows a full day of rain or storms we will refund the entire amount.

PLEASE NOTE: GAS PRICES-

Our pontoon rental prices were set on January of 2022.   This includes a full tank of gas for free.  However, due to the current political climate and what's happening in Ukraine, it's expected gas prices to increase.   If gas prices go up, we will charge a gas surcharge at the end of the day based on the difference in gas prices that day as compared to the prices of gas on January of 2022.    For example; if you book in February and gas prices were $2.99, and your rental is 2 months later and gas prices go up $5.00, we have to charge the difference.
